01The situation

Dhanaji Dabade came to us in an unusual spot. DMD Gold Prosperity had an established B2B fine-jewellery business, and he wanted to expand into B2C with a dedicated website for buyers in the USA and Europe.

What made it interesting is that Dhanaji comes from an IT background. He understands both technology and jewellery well, and could have taken a real run at this himself. He chose not to. He didn’t want to spend time and energy figuring it out by trial and error when he could bring in a team that had already done it for jewellery businesses. He came to us as the experts, precisely so he didn’t have to become one.

And the build itself was genuinely complex. B2C fine jewellery for international markets, spanning several selling models at once: ready-to-ship, made-to-order and exports, with the pricing and services a serious fine-jewellery buyer expects.

We built DMD a fine-jewellery platform that runs several business models in one place, for an international audience.

Ready-to-ship, made-to-order and international exports each work differently, and the store handles all of them, so the business doesn’t have to pick one model or juggle three disconnected systems.

Sophisticated, dual pricing

The platform runs dynamic, real-time pricing alongside fixed, MRP-style pricing, so different pieces are priced the right way instead of forced into one scheme that doesn’t fit fine jewellery.

Bespoke and consultation, built in

Beyond products, the store supports bespoke design and bridal and wedding consultations: the high-touch services that define fine jewellery, brought into the online experience instead of left offline.

Built for international B2C

The whole build takes an established B2B house into direct-to-consumer selling across the USA and Europe, without giving up the credibility the B2B business was built on.

DMD Gold Prosperity now has a store built to do what few can: run ready-to-ship, made-to-order and exports together, price them with both dynamic and fixed logic, and carry bespoke and bridal consultations, all for B2C buyers across the USA and Europe.
